React Native Engineer

React Native Engineer Location: Remote – No location preferenceEmployment Type: Full-Time The Role We're looking for a React Native Engineer to lead the development of our new mobile application. You’ll be responsible for setting up the mobile codebase, defining architecture, implementing core features, and collaborating closely with backend and product teams. This is a ground-floor opportunity to take full ownership of our mobile experience. What You'll Do Architect and build the initial version of our React Native app from scratch Integrate the app with our Rails 8 API, managing authentication and data workflows Build intuitive, high-quality, and responsive mobile UIs Ensure performance, usability, and accessibility across Android and iOS platforms Work closely with design, product, and backend teams to define and deliver mobile features Implement secure, persistent sessions and handle offline scenarios gracefully Set up testing, release, and CI/CD pipelines for mobile deployment Contribute to technical decision-making, tooling, and best practices Tech Stack Mobile Framework: React Native (Expo) Language: TypeScript Backend: Rails 8 API Requirements 3+ years of experience building mobile applications with React Native Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, React Hooks, and modern ES6+ syntax Experience integrating with REST APIs and handling auth flows (e.g., JWT) Proficiency in building cross-platform UIs that feel native Familiarity with mobile storage, permissions, notifications, and deep linking Ability to set up and manage mobile project structure, builds, and dependencies Experience publishing apps to the App Store and Google Play Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with ownership and autonomy Nice to Have Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines (EAS, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, etc.) Experience handling document previews, uploads, and camera access Familiarity with Expo and transitioning to bare workflow if needed Understanding of accessibility standards and performance optimization Real estate tech, proptech, or SaaS experience Experience using AI and AI coding assistants What We Offer Opportunity to lead the mobile direction of a fast-growing proptech product Full ownership of a greenfield mobile codebase Remote-friendly work culture with flexible hours
